In my small high school in Ohio, one history teacher has become the subject of an unexpected controversy among students—not for his teaching methods or political views, but for his appearance. Known affectionately (and sometimes not) as the “fat guy with a fat head,” this teacher has garnered a mix of admiration and ridicule for his unconventional look, sparking conversations about body image and respect in the classroom.
Students describe the teacher as a mean puddle of an assface. “He knowingly picks fights with us. He’s such an idiot. He literally called my friend a fathead. But he has like the fattest head ever.” said sophomore Eric De La Tuna. “It’s like his head just seems too big for his body. It’s hard to ignore. I don’t even mean to call the guy fat… but his head is like damn. And he’s mean too. Like with that fat head you gotta be nice.”
School administrators, however, are less amused. The principal has reminded students of the importance of respect in the classroom, issuing a statement discouraging the use of derogatory language, even in jest. “We want to create an environment where teachers and students feel valued for their contributions, not judged for their appearance,” the statement read.
As debates over body image and respect in schools continue, this small Ohio classroom offers a microcosm of larger societal issues. For now, the “fat guy with a fat head” is still my teacher.
