In a shocking and deeply tragic incident, a man found himself unable to join his friends for a scheduled golf game after his wife committed a gruesome act of violence against his friends. This devastating turn of events has left the man grieving the loss of not only his friends but also the camaraderie they shared on the golf course.
The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, expressed his profound sadness to be missing his tee time this weekend and how it’s “really kind of a shame” that his friends were murdered by his wife. He described the friends he will no longer be able to golf with as “pretty decent guys” and emphasized that with these guys he had played some of his best ever rounds of golf, including a 2-eagle day after not swinging a club for over four months.
The anonymous man is not sure that he can find another foursome where in which he can achieve the loose state of mind required to perform at upper end of his abilities. In the worst case, according to him, finding such a foursome is a process that could take years.
To make matters worse, all three of the funerals are scheduled on Sundays over the next 5 weeks. The anonymous man harped on the fact that as a result of his former friends funerals, he will almost certainly not be able to play consecutive weekly rounds of golf over the coming weeks. “That kind of inconsistency is bound to break a golfer’s rhythm and almost certainly inflate your scores when you finally get back out there, you know?” said the man. Not only is this a bad look for attracting new foursome members (who will naturally think the man is worse at golf than he believes himself to be), but it creates some real psychological stress for the man on top of the tedious scheduling work trying to fit in rounds of golf around his former friends funerals.
While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, this heart-wrenching story serves as a reminder of the unpredictable and devastating consequences of violence. It also underscores the significance of the bonds formed through shared hobbies and activities, which can be shattered by tragic events beyond one’s control.
